PCT Day 6: It’s All Been Worth It
First off, it’s WELLNESS WEDNESDAY ! And today I am just going to check in on my physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Like am I good???
Considering today is our last day on trail before we get into the first hiker town (Julian), I am feeling fantastic. We’ve been doing some hefty miles and found a little bubble that we wanna stick with. I am loving this experience so far.
Physically I’m definitely in for it. Not over my head, but I’m being challenged daily. My strength, balance, mobility, flexibility. It’s all being tested at every stage of this journey. I think that I’m stubborn enough to fight through the pain, but I’m very much looking forward to getting into Julian for a break.
Mentally I’m good too. I’m not sure I’ve processed how long I’m actually going to be out here for. It feels like in a few days, I’ll be getting back on a flight to Florida. To think I won’t be making any income this whole summer is crazy. It’s a surreal feeling.
Emotionally…. Yikes. That’s a tough one. I’m high, then low. Nervous, but then ecstatic. I miss my circle back home, but I feel so free. I’m testing my limits, but I’ve never felt so sure of my decision to be out here. It’s all over the place. But isn’t that the point?
I’m blessed to be able to feel the range of emotions and even understand how I’m feeling.
So that’s all for today’s entry. I’ll be writing on Taco Bout Anything Thursday in the next entry for Thursday 4/17. Thank you so much for reading.
